RESTRICTION SUMMARY: APAwire CLIENTS ONLY SHOTLIST: APAwire - APAwire CLIENTS ONLY, Tulkarm – August 28, 2021. Palestine Technical University (Kadoorie) announced the completion and manufacture of a respirator "PTUK Ventilator" with international technical specifications. 0.1 SOUNDBITE (in Arabic) Nour Abu Al-Rub, a head of Palestine Technical University. STORYLINE: During the announcement ceremony between Prof. Abu Al-Rub that the breathing apparatus is a Palestinian device with distinction in terms of manufacturing and production completely, and it is a qualitative achievement in which Palestine has surpassed the countries of the Middle East and the Arab world. It is an unprecedented qualitative achievement at the Arab and international levels. Abu Al-Rub explained that the device underwent trial and examination in its various stages, and was subject to all medical and engineering technical standards, and obtained certificates and accreditations from Palestinian and international authorities, such as the Standards and Metrology Organization, international medical production companies, and anesthesia specialists and consultants in public and private hospitals. The university president also thanked Dr. Abu Al-Rub, all the parties that cooperated with the university to create the first oxygen respirator with a purely Palestinian hands, with a product called: PTUK -Ventilator, and with specifications that surpass the internationally manufactured medical devices, challenging any party to compete on the performance and price of this device. Abu Al-Rub reviewed the three stages that the manufacture of this device went through, praising the role of the four engineers, Mufid Alawneh, Yazid Alawneh, Muhammad Salama and Ali Sherida, who personally supervised the manufacture of this device during about a year and a half, despite the Corona pandemic and the closures imposed by the government at the time. Prof. Dr. Abu Al-Rub talked about some of the specifications of this device, the most important of which is that after operating it directly, the device checks the device’s performance directly and if there is a defect in it, it will not work at all. The device then turns on automatically to generate oxygen from the room itself, in order to preserve the patient's life. Footage by / APAwire
