STORYLINE

Muslims around the world celebrate the holy month of Ramadan by praying during the night time and abstaining from eating, drinking, and sexual acts during the period between sunrise and sunset.

The number of new coronavirus cases continued to rise in the besieged Gaza Strip, which recorded 1932 new cases in the last 24 hours and eight deaths as 554 patients have recovered, according to the daily report on coronavirus in Palestine by the Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.

The West Bank had 952 new coronavirus cases and 20 deaths in the last 24 hours, said the Minister, while 1344 patients have recovered.

Alkaila said 201 corona patients are getting treatment in intensive care units, including 61 who are attached to ventilators.

At the same time, over 100,000 people have been vaccinated in the West Bank since the start of the rollout late last month, and over 30,000 people vaccinated in the Gaza Strip. Footage by /APAwire
