Russian Defence Ministry shows awarding ceremony for ‘BARS’ servicemen, who distinguished themselves during special military operation STORYLINE: The ‘BARS’ volunteer servicemen received state awards for courage, bravery, and heroism while protecting the civilian population of the Donbass region. They have been awarded with ‘For courage’ medal, ‘The Cross of Saint George’, and ‘For Life Saving’ medal in the special military operation zone. In October 2022, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces issued a decree, authorising commanders of the Russian Groups of Forces to award the servicemen in combat areas, who have distinguished themselves during the special military operation.
