STORYLINE: The Student Initiative Against Normalization organized a popular protest today, Friday, in front of the Saudi Mosque in the capital, Nouakchott, in rejection of the path of normalization in some Arab and Islamic countries and in support of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially in light of the desecrations, incursions, and provocations carried out by the Israeli occupation against the feelings of all Muslims. The protest included chanting and raising slogans against and rejecting normalization and supporting the Palestinian cause and its sanctities, most notably the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. In a speech by the head of the initiative in Mauritania, Mr. Hadou Al-Dah, he expressed the support of the Mauritanian people for the Palestinian issue as it is the central issue of the Arab and Islamic nation. He also appreciated Mauritania’s position of rejecting normalization, calling on the rest of the countries to undermine this path, stressing the importance of the struggle by all possible means to achieve the liberation of all of Palestine. This popular stance comes within the framework of the popular campaign: Jerusalem is a trust and normalization is betrayal, which was launched by the Coordination of Resistance to Zionism and Normalization in cooperation with many national and international institutions and bodies that reject normalization.
