STORYLINE: Palestinian farmers complain about the weakness of local markets and the obstacles that Israel places in the way of importing grapes to the Gaza Strip. The grape season for this year witnessed a decline in the production of the crop, as the amount of production did not exceed 70% for this year. Israel takes advantage of the shortage of cardboard boxes for packing grapes and floods the Palestinian market with used boxes bearing logos and prints in Hebrew for companies affiliated with Israel. The Israeli checkpoints prevent the import of Palestinian goods filled with these boxes to Gaza on the grounds that they impersonate Israeli companies. Hebron is famous for its grape production.
