STORYLINE: Today, Sunday, the union of workers in the Hebron municipality announced a comprehensive and open strike in all its facilities, in protest against the policies of the municipal council. The head of the union, Ibrahim Al-Qawasmeh, said in a statement, "Today we started an open and comprehensive strike in the municipality's facilities, with the exception of emergency, fire and guard employees," stressing that the strike came as a continuation of a series of protest activities after the expiry of the time limit set by a previous agreement between the Municipal Council and the union to fulfill 24 human rights demands of the employees. He pointed out that the municipal council is practicing a policy of procrastination in implementing the union's demands, explaining that achieving the demands needs half the previously agreed period, without implementing them by the council. Al-Qawasmeh added: "The union has not yet reached any signs of agreement with the municipal council", pointing out that the town's president, Tayseer Abu Sneina, continues to ask for more time to implement the demands.
