RESTRICTION SUMMARY: APAwire CLIENTS ONLY SHOTLIST: APAwire - APAwire CLIENTS ONLY, Jenin - 05 July 2021. Family of Palestinian prisoner Taha el-Sharqawi sit inside their home, in the West Bank city of Jenin. 0.1 SOUNDBITE (in Arabic) Father of Taha. STORYLINE: Israeli forces Monday overnight detained 10 Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, according to local and security sources. In the northern West Bank, Israeli forces re-arrested a former prisoner after storming his house in Zababdeh town, southeast of Jenin city, as confirmed by Director of the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS) Office, Muntaser Sammur. Sammur added that the soldiers rounded up two others, including a former prisoner, after breaking into and searching their houses in Arraba town, southwest of the city. In Nablus district, Israeli military vehicles stormed Beita town, where soldiers rounded up two others after ransacking the houses of their families. In Jerusalem, Israeli police detained a 63-year-old Palestinian from the vicinity of Bab Hutta, which leads to Al-Aqsa Mosque. They re-arrested two others; a former prisoner from Ras al-Amoud neighborhood and a 14-year-old minor from al-Issawiya. In the southern West Bank, soldiers detained a Palestinian after brutally assaulting him at the entrance of al-Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron. They also rounded up a shepherd while he was grazing his livestock in at-Tuwani village in the Masafer Yatta, south of the city, as confirmed by Coordinator of the Steadfastness Committees, Fuad al-‘Amour. Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents. These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers. Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised. Footage by /APAwire
