Five-month-old Palestinian infant Suwar Ashour is receiving medical care at Nasser Medical Complex hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, as she suffers from severe malnutrition and a lack of necessary treatment. This is due to Israel’s closure of Gaza’s border crossings since early March, which has prevented her from accessing adequate medical care. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 54 deaths caused by malnutrition have been recorded in Khan Younis alone since the start of the war.
