The Palestinian Prisoners' Club also confirmed that the health condition of prisoner Asef Al-Rifai (21 years old) from the town of Kafr Ain/Ramallah, who suffers from cancer, is seriously deteriorating, compared to the past period. The Prisoner's Club said that prisoner Al-Rifai underwent surgery at the Israeli Assaf Harofeh Hospital, where he was transferred from the Ramla Prison Clinic last Wednesday, after a new tumor appeared in his urethra, which led to major damage to one of his kidneys. The Prisoner Club pointed out that the prisoner, Al-Rifai, received treatment after procrastination that lasted for seven months from the date of his arrest on September 24, 2022, despite medical reports confirming the level of danger that he was facing during the period of his exposure to arrest, which led to the spread of tumors in several parts. From his body, knowing that the occupation deprived him of treatment before his arrest, as it refused to grant him a permit for treatment in Jerusalem. It is noteworthy that the occupation authorities detain in their prisons more than 700 sick prisoners, including about 200 prisoners suffering from chronic diseases, including 24 prisoners and detainees suffering from cancer and tumors of varying degrees.
