RESTRICTION SUMMARY: APAwire CLIENTS ONLY SHOTLIST: APAwire - APAwire CLIENTS ONLY, Gaza- 08 May 2022. Palestinians take part in a rally marking of the 74th anniversary of the Nakba, the "catastrophe" of Israel's creation in 1948, on the sea beach of Gaza city. 0.1 SOUNDBITE (in Arabic) Mahmoud Khalaf, Coordinator of the Joint Refugee Committee. 0.2 SOUNDBITE (in Arabic) Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Head of the Refugee Affairs Department, Ahmed Abu Houli. 0.3 SOUNDBITE (in Arabic) Ayman Abu Shaweesh, media spokesman for the People's Committee. 0.4 SOUNDBITE (in Arabic) The Governor of Gaza, Ibrahim Abu al-Naga. STORYLINE: Palestinians and Arab Israelis commemorate the Nakba on May 15 -- the official date of Israel's creation according to the western calendar. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians fled their homes or were forced out of them on the creation of Israel in 1948. Those who stayed in their villages when Israel was created are now described as Israeli Arabs, but the majority became refugees in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and neighbouring Arab countries. Nakba left hundreds of thousands of Palestinians displaced by the war accompanying the birth of the Jewish state. Footage by /APA
