RESTRICTION SUMMARY: APAwire CLIENTS ONLY SHOTLIST: APAwire - APAwire CLIENTS ONLY, Nablus, 18 October 2021. Christians attend prayers in the Church of Jacob's a deep well that has been associated in religious tradition with Biblical Jacob for roughly two thousand year in West Bank city of Nablus. 0.1 SOUNDBITE (in Arabic) Father Justinus STORYLINE: Jacob's Well (known as Jacob's fountain and Well of Sychar) is a deep well constructed from rock that has been associated in religious tradition with Jacob for roughly two millennia. It is situated inside an Eastern Orthodox church and monastery, in the Palestinian city of Nablus in the West Bank. Jewish, Samaritan, Christian, and Muslim traditions all associate the well with Jacob. The well is not specifically named in the Old Testament, but Genesis 33:18–20 states that when Jacob returned to Shechem from Paddan Aram, he camped "before" the city and bought the land on which he pitched his tent and erected an altar.
