STORYLINE: Since 1998, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip has started to dispose of medical waste by burning it in three main incinerators, which is considered a method harmful to the environment. Several years ago, the Palestinian Ministry of Health resorted to initiating a medical waste management project, in cooperation with several international institutions, to create a guide to properly dispose of these wastes. The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip produces 1 ton and 700 kg of medical waste daily. The amount of medical waste increased significantly after the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, in the Gaza Strip, where the amount reaches 2 tons per day. Footage by / APAwire
