Palestinian teachers take part in a protest demanding their rights in front of the headquarters United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) 01-SOUDBITE: Teacher, Iman Abu Tabikh 02-SOUDBITE: Mahmoud Khalaf, member of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine STORYLINE: UNRWA froze 250 contracts of the temporary teachers. The poverty rate among the residents of the Gaza Strip rose to 53 percent and the extreme poverty rate reached 33.8 percent, according to the latest official statistics issued by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics. UNRWA provides life-saving services to some 5.6 million Palestine refugees registered with the Agency across its five fields of operation, including Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, including East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.
