STORYLINE
Abbas Kamel Egypt's intelligence chief arrives to Gaza stirp and meets with Palesitnian factions leaders hold talks with Hamas leaders on stabilizing the ceasefire.
On May 21, Egypt brokered a ceasefire between Israel and the Hamas-led militant groups that ended 11 days of tit-for-tat fighting between the two sides in the besieged Gaza Strip.
According to official Israeli and Palestinian sources, the fighting has left 254 Palestinians and 12 Israelis killed. However, the fighting also caused massive damages to the buildings and infrastructure in Gaza.
Kamel’s visit coincides with Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi's visit to Cairo for talks with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry.
