Workers prepare assorted sweets at a confectionery shop in Gaza City on July 23, 2026, a day before the announcement of the Palestinian General Secondary Education Examination (Tawjihi) results, as families prepare to celebrate successful students despite the ongoing war. Tawjihi results are a major social occasion in the Palestinian territories, traditionally marked by the distribution of sweets and family gatherings, although the war in the Gaza Strip has significantly altered daily life and limited many public celebrations.
