A Palestinian girl Nariman Abu Obaid, 21, uses strings to embroidery on wood as she manufactures traditional lanterns known in Arabic as "Fanous" on the holy month of Ramadan in Deir Al Balah in the center of Gaza Strip, on May 17, 2018. Ramadan is sacred to Muslims because it is during that month that tradition says the Koran was revealed to the Prophet Mohammed. The fast is one of the five main religious obligations under Islam. Muslims around the world will mark the month, during which believers abstain from eating, drinking, smoking and having sex from dawn until sunset. Photo by Mahmoud Khattab
