Palestinian protesters clash with Israeli security forces in the center of the West Bank city of Hebron, on February 21, 2014 during a demonstration against the closure of the main downtown street "Al-Shuhada" and also to mark the 20th anniversary of the massacre of 29 Palestinian Muslim worshipers by Jewish extremist Baruch Goldstein at the Tomb of the Patriarchs on February 25, 1994. At the outset of the second Palestinian intifada, or uprising, the army declared the street a "closed military zone," restricting Palestinian access to residents of the immediate area, on foot only.
