Anti-government demonstrators take part in a protest in Alexandria, Egypt, Jan. 25, 2011. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak defied a quarter-million protesters demanding he step down immediately, announcing he would serve out the last months of his term and "die on Egyptian soil." He promises not to seek re-election, but that does not calm public fury as clashes erupt between his opponents and supporters. Photo by Ahmed Ramadan
