Residents and workers are using makeshift heating ovens and thermal distillation to convert plastic waste into limited quantities of fuel intended to operate electricity generators, water pumps and vehicles. The activity comes amid a tight blockade and severe shortages of fuel and basic goods across the Gaza Strip, prompting residents to seek alternative sources of energy to meet essential daily needs.
