Restrictions Summary: APA wire clients only Shortlist: APAwire - APA wire clients only, Khan Younis- February 13, 2026. Two girls, Lamis and Rimas Shalouf, were born with congenital deformities after their father inhaled phosphorus gas near their home in Rafah. Lamis had both legs amputated, and Rimas had one leg amputated two years later. With their prosthetic limbs damaged and the crossings closed, they frequent a makeshift center in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis, searching for mobility and a chance at life. This center provides them and dozens of others with rehabilitation and limb maintenance services, at a time when thousands of Palestinians have suffered amputations as a result of an Israeli war that has lasted more than two years, amid restrictions preventing treatment and the entry of necessary rehabilitation materials. Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, February 13, 2026. 01. Sound (Arabic): Hafez Abdel Aal 02. Sound (Arabic): Ataf Shalouf, mother of Lamis and Rimas 03. Sound (Arabic): Specialist Mohammed Al-Khaldi
