SHOTLIST: RESTRICTION SUMMARY: APAwire CLIENTS ONLY SHOTLIST: APAwire - APAwire CLIENTS ONLY, Jenin, West Bank, August 20, 2026. More than 100 Israeli settlers, accompanied by Israeli troops, enter the evacuated Kadim settlement near Jenin as preparations continue to re-establish the site and settle around 30 families there permanently. STORYLINE: More than 100 Israeli settlers entered the evacuated Kadim settlement near Jenin in the occupied West Bank on Thursday, accompanied by Israeli troops and joined by Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and settlement council head Yossi Dagan. Kadim was evacuated in 2005. For more than two months, infrastructure work has been underway at the site and several caravans have been brought in as part of preparations to re-establish the settlement and accommodate around 30 settler families permanently. Israeli troops also closed the bypass road extending from the town of Jalameh, northeast of Jenin, toward the Kadim and Ganim settlements, restricting Palestinian movement in the area. The developments follow the re-establishment of Ganim, about half a kilometre from Kadim, where a number of settler families have begun residing. Palestinians in nearby villages and towns fear that the renewed settlement presence could lead to increased settler attacks, further movement restrictions and reduced access to agricultural land.
