Israeli authorities had announced the confiscation of about three and a half dunams of Palestinian-owned land for the project, while clearing operations have continued across areas beyond those announced for confiscation, damaging agricultural structures, uprooting olive trees and preventing dozens of residents of Qabatiya from accessing their land. The military point is planned at the western entrance to Qabatiya on land classified as Area A under the Oslo Accords. The operations coincide with an Israeli army announcement of plans for a new settlement road expected to link the settlements of Dotan, Noa, Ganim and Kadim, threatening hundreds of dunams of Palestinian land.
