Servicemen Zapad Group of Forces' maintenance battalion carry out continuous work on restoration and repair of military hardware and armaments in special military operation zone. STORYLINE: Personnel of repair units from the Western Military District (WMD) uninterruptedly maintain and repair armament and hardware. For this purpose, servicemen have deployed repair and restoration posts in field conditions. The emphasis was placed on maintaining and repairing the military equipment and the armament of the troops that operate at a considerable distance from the provisional deployment posts. Thanks to the high qualifications of the servicemen of the repair units, as well as modern maintenance and repair vehicles, repair work of any complexity is carried out. Servicemen called up from the reserve as part of the partial mobilisation, volunteers and representatives of manufacturing plants are carrying out combat tasks in the same formation as specialists from the maintenance battalion of the Western Military District. In order to maintain high combat capability of units and ensure their continuous combat operations, the first priority is to repair armaments that are necessary for the fulfilment of the combat mission. All modifications of the main battle tanks T-72, T-80 and T-90, as well as BMP-2 and BMP-3 are repaired. In addition, the servicemen from repair units in the field modernise hardware and weapons. For example, the soldiers equip armoured vehicles with additional protective shields. The personnel operate in shifts that allows to work uninterruptedly. The speed of repair in the field workshops is the envy of the best car workshops. But speed of repair is not at the expense of quality. Military mechanics do things like for themselves.
