STORYLINE: Israel launched a war on the Gaza Strip in May 2023, which led to Israel and the Palestinian factions carrying out mutual bombing operations, during which a number of martyrs and injuries fell on the Palestinian side. The Israeli targeting of homes and apartments also escalated, with the Israeli army covering more than 10 homes completely since the beginning of the aggression against the Gaza Strip at dawn on Tuesday, May 9, until Friday evening, as the Government Information Office confirmed that 8 buildings and 28 residential units were completely demolished and damaged. About 532 units, including 37 uninhabitable and 495 partial and severe, as a result of the ongoing Israeli occupation bombing of the Gaza Strip. According to the Ministry of Public Works in Gaza, there are 1,300 housing units destroyed in previous Israeli wars on the Strip that have not been reconstructed due to the lack of special funding for them from donor countries, and they need a reconstruction process. The value of the financial sums that the Palestinians need in order to complete the process of rebuilding what the occupation destroyed during previous Israeli wars, especially in 2014 and 2021, amounts to approximately 200 million US dollars to complete the reconstruction process.
