STORYLINE: During the special military operation, crews of anti-aircraft missile defence systems of the Western Military District continue to provide round-the-clock air defence to protect the Russian troops from the enemy. Within their altitude and range, SAMs can engage all types of targets. Anti-aircraft gunners can confidently shoot down aircraft, helicopters, ballistic missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles at long ranges in a wide range of altitudes. The crews carry out reconnaissance and destroy unmanned aerial vehicles with missile and bomb payloads as well as reconnaissance aircraft. The systems can detect targets in the field and while moving extending the range of missions on protecting ground-based force grouping. The Tor SAM system is mainly used to defend strategic installations or military units. As soon as any aerial object enters the responsibility area that does not respond to the friend-or-foe request, they track it and get ready to hit. The radar scans the sky 360 degrees, while the targeting and tracking station automatically identifies and captures the most dangerous targets. Often SAM crews have to work under enemy artillery fire. Footage by /APA
