STORYLINE: Nasser Abu Hmeid, a Palestinian patient of cancer serving a life sentence in Israeli jails, has lost his ability to eat as well as lost significant weight as a result of the spread of cancer in his body, said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS). PPS said recent medical reports suggest rapid deterioration of Abu Hmeid’s health condition, as he is only provided with painkillers after the doctors decided to stop his chemotherapy. Abu Hmeid, 49, from Amari refugee camp in Ramallah, entered into a coma earlier this year after suffering a severe inflammation of the lungs as a result of bacterial contamination.
