Militants of the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, take part in a military march, in the West Bank city of Jenin. STORYLINE: Jenin and its refugee camp have been a focal point of nightly raids, which often trigger violent clashes. Official Palestinian figures showed that more than 200 Palestinians had been killed since January, including over 50 in the Gaza Strip. Most Palestinians were killed in the northern West Bank cities of Jenin and Nablus. Israel seized the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem in the 1967 Middle East war and has controlled or besieged them ever since, while the Palestinians seek to establish an independent state on these territories with East Jerusalem as the capital.
