STORYLINE
For years, villagers from Kafr Qaddum and neighboring villages have been protesting every Friday against illegal Israeli settlements, and to call on Israeli authorities to reopen the village’s main road, which has been sealed off by the occupation authorities since 2002.
On last Friday, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Palestinian people have the right to defend themselves and get their legitimate rights of self-determination and establish their independent Palestinian state on the 1967 border.
Israel has occupied the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which are claimed by the Palestinians, since the 1967 Middle East war.
