RESTRICTION SUMMARY: APAwire CLIENTS ONLY SHOTLIST: APAwire - APAwire CLIENTS ONLY, Jerusalem – August 27, 2021. Palestinian Muslim worshippers pray during the Friday prayers at a protest tent, set up by activists against settlements and the demolition of houses by Israeli authorities, in the mostly Arab neighbourhood of Silwan in east Jerusalem. STORYLINE: Many of the families in Silwan are under threat of forced displacement in this east Jerusalem neighborhood coveted by Jewish settlers because of its proximity to holy sites. More than 100,000 Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem are at risk of displacement, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and around 330,000 face a lack of infrastructure and severe housing shortages because of discriminatory Israeli planning and zoning policies. Only 13 per cent of East Jerusalem is approved for Palestinians, subject to building permits, and most of these areas are already built up. Footage by / APAwire
