RESTRICTION SUMMARY: APAwire CLIENTS ONLY SHOTLIST: APAwire - APAwire CLIENTS ONLY, Gaza - 19 August 2021. Palestinian students hold banners during a protest against the Israeli siege on Gaza Strip. 0.1 SOUNDBITE (in Arabic) Head of the Teachers Syndicate in Gaza, Hassan Najm STORYLINE: The Israeli blockade of the occupied Gaza Strip, in its current form, has been in place since June 2007, when Israel imposed an airtight land, sea and air blockade on the area. ... But Israel has restricted the movement of Palestinians in and out of Gaza for much longer than the past 14 years. With the latest Israeli bombardments, the Gaza Strip, home to two million Palestinians, is once again the scene of widespread destruction and human suffering. As one of the most densely populated areas in the world, the enclave has been aptly described as “the world’s largest open-air prison”. In 2007, life in Gaza was turned upside down as Israel imposed a tight blockade on the Strip. Footage by Ashraf Amra/APAwire
