RESTRICTION SUMMARY: APAwire CLIENTS ONLY SHOTLIST: APAwire - APAwire CLIENTS ONLY, Gaza - 04 August 2021. New cars are seen at a car show place amid Israel's import ban in Gaza city. 0.1 SOUNDBITE (in Arabic) Alaa Badwan, CEO of Badwan Automotive Company. STORYLINE: Palestinian traders and citizens of the besieged Gaza Strip complain of a "fatal stagnation" in the car trading amid an import ban. The Israeli authorities have prevented the entry of imported cars into the strip for nearly three months and show no prospect of lifting the ban. Meanwhile, vehicle prices have been witnessing a significant increase since imported cars were not allowed to enter the coastal enclave, which makes demand far exceed supply. Badwan complained that they still have to pay around 7,000 dollars monthly for the salaries of their employees, and the bills of electricity and water, given the fact that they earn almost "nothing."
