Palestinian employees of the security services -2005 are military employees who were appointed before the Palestinian division by a decision of President Mahmoud Abbas, since the first days of the division thier number was 12 thousand members distributed among the majority of the security services until their number has now decreased to reach 8 thousand after joining a number of them to work in the security services. Since the Palestinian division in 2007, the Palestinian Authority cut the salaries of these employees for various periods, ranging from 4 months to a year and a half, then returned to pay them a flat salary of 1,500 shekels (about $ 450) only under the item of a social grant.
