STORYLINE

The Israeli occupation police on Friday afternoon assaulted Muslim worshipers and detained five young men after they finished performing the Friday prayer at the Aqsa Mosque.

According to local sources, police forces attacked the worshipers, fired stun grenades at them and forced them to leave the Aqsa Mosque through al-Asbat Gate.

The police also prevented citizens from the West Bank from reaching or entering the Aqsa Mosque to attend the Friday khutba (sermon) and prayer.
