Palestinian teachers hold classes for schoolchildren inside displacement tents in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, on October 5, 2026, in an effort to continue education despite damage and destruction to schools during the war, on World Teachers’ Day. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Education, more than 800 Palestinian male and female teachers have been killed and thousands wounded in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank since the war began on October 7, 2023.
