Palestinian bride Aya Matran sits on the rubble of the home where she had planned to live after her wedding in the Maghazi refugee camp, central Gaza Strip, on August 6, 2026. Matran said the house was destroyed in an Israeli airstrike hours before the scheduled wedding after she and her fiancé evacuated following an evacuation order. She said she lost her wedding dress, gold jewelry, furniture, and household belongings that the couple had prepared for their new home, forcing them to postpone the wedding.
