Palestinian Maher Abu Suweilem, who suffers from a rare disease that causes stiffness of the spine and bones, struggles to continue his daily life while living in a tent in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on July 7, 2026. Deprived of biological treatment due to its unavailability in the Gaza Strip, Abu Suweilem follows medical advice to walk nearly 10 kilometers each day despite the dangers he has faced during the war, hoping to receive treatment and improve his condition amid warnings that the disease could lead to paralysis.
