Palestinian volunteers prepare food before distribute it for Poor families during the holy fasting cof Ramadan, in Nuseirat in the center of Gaza Strip on April 21 , 2021. There has been a significant drop in the amount of funding provided to local civil humanitarian charities due to the measures imposed to curb the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. More than two-thirds of the Gaza Strip’s population of some 2 million people suffers from poverty or extreme poverty, according to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
