Palestinian engineer Ahmed Al-Qiq, 30, inspects damage at his center for the Training and Development, which was destroyed by Israeli air strikes during the May 2021 conflict between Hamas and Israel, in Gaza city, on June 29, 2021. Israel bombed factories, commercial buildings, stores, farms, restaurants and businesses. More than 500 enterprises were destroyed or damaged, including 50 factories. Gaza already had one of the world’s highest unemployment rates – more than 50 percent even before Israel’s latest offensive. Photo by Ashraf Amra
