Mourners and relatives carry the body of a Palestinian youth during his funeral in the village of Mugheer, about 25 kilometres northeast of the city of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank on January 31, 2018, after he was reportedly killed by Israeli forces the night before. The Palestinian Health Ministry said on January 30 that the 16-year-old was hit in the head during clashes with soldiers, and named him as Laith Abu Naim. A spokeswoman for the Israeli military confirmed that "violent riots are taking place in this area and burning tyres and stones were thrown at the soldiers", though was unable to confirm that any Palestinians had been hit by gunfire.
