A Palestinian protester uses a slingshot to throw stones during clashes between Palestinian youth and Israeli army on December 11, 2015 in the occupied West Bank village of Silwad, northeast of Ramallah after a demonstration to call for the return of the bodies of killed alleged Palestinian attackers. Since October 1, almost daily attacks and clashes between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers have killed 115 on the Palestinian side, 17 Israelis, an American and an Eritrean. More than half of the Palestinians killed have been alleged attackers. Israel has withheld the corpses of many of the attackers, a policy authorities say acts as a deterrent but critics argue leads to more anger. Photo by Shadi Hatem
