Palestinian children put candles on the remains of the car that late Hamas military commander Ahmed al-Jaabari was riding in when he was killed in an Israeli air strike, during the first anniversary of his death, at Rafah Crossing in the southern Gaza Strip, November 14, 2013. al-Jaabari was killed by an Israeli military strike while driving along Omar Mukhtar Street in Gaza City in the attack, which was a joint operation by the Shin Bet and the IDF, came amid a series of Palestinian rocket attacks against Israel and Israeli air strikes against targets in Gaza over a eight-day period called Operation Pillar of Defense.
