A Palestinian youth holds a pot made out of kneaded mud, in one of the largest pottery workshops in the Gaza Strip, 20 July 2013. Pottery is a traditional industry in the Gaza Strip. According to reports, over 50 pottery workshops in Gaza have closed over the past few years. This decline in production is due to the availability of cheaper, plastic containers, as well as to the ongoing Israeli economic sanctions on the Gaza Strip. Photo by Mohammed Talatene
