Palestinian Muslims gesture as they try to get past Israeli police at a barricade at the Damascus Gate (not seen) in East Jerusalem as Israel restricts attendance at the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem's Old City for the third Friday prayers in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, to men over the age of 50. Some scuffles broke out at the Damascus Gate before the prayers began as people tried to break through police lines to enter the old city, and Israeli police used mounted officers and sprayed 'skunk' spray to control the crowds.
