Palestinian Gawdat Hirbawi works at his kufiyeh factory 'Hirbawi kufiyeh' in the West Bank city of Hebron on 29 August 2010. Kufiyeh is a traditional headdress typically worn by Arab men made of a square of cloth ("scarf"), usually cotton, folded and wrapped in various styles around the head. Palestinians wear the kufiyeh over their head all the time along with the black rope. The late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat had popularized the kufiyeh since the 1970s when he wore it all the time to eventually making it the symbol of the modern Palestinian liberation movement.
