RESTRICTION SUMMARY: APAwire CLIENTS ONLY SHOTLIST: APAwire - APAwire CLIENTS ONLY, Gaza, 23 July 2023. Palestinian students attend an animal taxidermy course in Gaza city 0.1 SOUNDBITE (in Arabic) trainer of the course, Rashid Anbar 0.2 SOUNDBITE (in Arabic) Student, Maram Al-Majdalawi STORYLINE: The course is the first of its kind in the Gaza Strip, to teach the basics of animal mummification, how to deal with pets and how to take care of them. Taxidermy is the art of preserving an animal's body via mounting (over an armature) or stuffing, for the purpose of display or study. Animals are often, but not always, portrayed in a lifelike state. The word taxidermy describes the process of preserving the animal, but the word is also used to describe the end product, which are called taxidermy mounts or referred to simply as "taxidermy".
