STORYLINE: Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Health, Osama Al-Najjar, called for the prosecution of the head of the Doctors Syndicate and the Syndicate Council in the occupied West Bank, due to what he called “cutting off service” to the Palestinian people. Al-Najjar said during a press conference in Ramallah on Monday, “Whoever cuts off health service from a branch is a criminal,” referring to the Doctors Syndicate strike. Regarding the doctors’ threat to go on strike and evacuate the Ministry of Health centers, Al-Najjar considered that there is no justification for the strike. “What is the fault of the citizen in need of surgery, and what is the fault of the citizens coming from one city to another?” He stressed the rejection of attempts by the Doctors Syndicate to initiate strikes and evacuate hospitals, considering this an unjustified cut off of service to the Palestinian people.
