RESTRICTION SUMMARY: APAwire CLIENTS ONLY SHOTLIST: APAwire - APAwire CLIENTS ONLY, Hebron- 15 December 2022. Israeli forces today demolished a house under construction and a water well in Farsh al-Hawa locality, northwest of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, according to local sources. SOUNDBITE (in Arabic) Samer Abu Aisha: the owner of the demolished house. STORYLINE: Samer Abu Eisha said that Israeli soldiers escorted a bulldozer to the locality, where the heavy machinery tore down his 320-square-meter house and 500-cubic-meter water cistern, purportedly for being located in Area C. Meanwhile, the gun-toting soldiers handed six villagers of the western part of Kafr ad-Dik town, west of Salfit, military notices, ordering them to stop the construction of their houses. Israeli refuses to permit virtually any Palestinian construction in Area C, which constitutes 60 percent of the occupied West Bank and falls under full Israeli military rule, forcing residents to build without obtaining rarely-granted permits to provide shelters for their families. In contrast, Israel much more easily gives over 800,000 Jewish Israeli settlers there building permits and provides them with roads, electricity, water and sewage systems that remain inaccessible to many neighboring Palestinians.
