Israeli workers place a new section of Israel's separation concrete barrier in the Cremisan Valley, adjacent to the Christian Palestinian town of Beit Jala on April 17, 2016. The original route of the barrier was slated to separate the Cremisan monastery from the neighbouring convent and vineyards but following a Palestinian appeal Israel's High court issued two separate rulings in 2015 ordering the government to consider alternative routes while allowing work to continue on the segment of the barrier not directly impacting the monastery and the convent.
