Palestinians run for cover as Israeli soldiers fire tear gas canisters during clashes with Palestinian stone throwers at the Israeli manned Qalandia checkpoint between Jerusalem and the West Bank city of Ramallah on May 15, 2011. Palestinians across the Israeli occupied territories rallied to mark the 63rd anniversary of the "Nakba" or "catastrophe" in reference to the birth of the state of Israel 63 years ago in British-mandate Palestine, which led to the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who either fled or were driven out of their homes during the 1948 war over Israel's creation.
