Buk-M3 air defence missile system crews protect Russian units from hostile airpower within special military operation STORYLINE: Crews of Buk-M3 air defence missile system continue protecting Russian units from hostile airpower — unmanned aerial vehicles, missiles, rockets, and other ordnance — within the special military operation. The system is able to increase its action range by S-300 and S-400 long-range air defence missiles apt for interchanging data and operating in pair. This feature results in detecting and shooting down any kind of target at ranges of 200 kilometres. Buk-M3 is also called 'drone destroyer' for having shot down an enormous number of Bayraktar TB2 reconnaissance and attack unmanned aerial vehicles in the beginning of the special military operation. It is also efficient in hitting projectiles launched by Tochka-U operational-tactical missile systems, HIMARS and other multiple-launch rocket systems. Missile battalions from the Western Military District securely protect the allied forces' dislocations, large military facilities, and infrastructure facilities from hostile airpower. Nationalists use various weapons, but the end all the air targets is the same.
